Apex BJJ will be giving Merrylands locals a new place to call their home. With state of the art facilities and a central location Apex Jiu Jitsu is focused on providing a much needed space for the Merrylands community. You asked for it and it's almost here. As many as possible. The more you train the faster you will get better at Jiu Jitsu and that is a proven fact. Training does not have to be intense either. It should be at a steady consistent pace to avoid injury and retain information
For No Gi a rash guard (rashy) and some shorts without pockets or a zipper. No Gi training requires a Gi Top and Gi Pants rash guard and designated/assigned belt colour.
No. We keep a clean mat policy which protects all members from skin infections and harmful bacteria which is primarily avoided when mats are kept clean and sterilised.
To protect all members we ask that finger nails are cut to avoid scratching or hurting other training partners. Uniforms are washed after every training session (no smelly gear). And hair is tied back if it is long. Others will include no walking to change rooms or bathrooms with bare feet. Clean hands and feet at all times. And please use deodorant. Body odor is never pleasant and your training partners will thank you
The level of intensity is usually dictated by the type of class that is being run it can also depend on the type of training partner you choose but most commonly it depends on the energy you give your training partners. If they feel your intensity is at a 100 they will usually match it. It is important to try and dial it down when first beginning Jiu Jitsu. That way you retain more and naturally learn faster. There will always be times for intensity once you have a good understanding and control of your own body mechanics
